"So, what do you want to be when you grow up?” It’s an age-old question, asked by parents, grandparents, teachers, other interested adults, maybe even your friends and we hope, YOU! Maybe you get asked that question too much, maybe not enough.Chances are, though, you might be asking it of yourself more frequently as you approach high school graduation.
One way to answer the question, what do you want to be when you grow up, is to think about it in terms of preparing for a journey. And, in order to prepare for a journey, you have to have solid directions or a pathway to follow. A great way to start planning your career pathway is find the answers to FIVE simple questions:
- What do you like to do the most? (Your interests)
- What are you good at? (Your skills)
- What do you value in a job? (Your work values)
- Who are you no matter where you are at? (Your personality type)
- How do you process information? (You’re thinking style)
