HCTEA and HCC - A Great Combination

Hutchinson Career and Technical Education Academy partners with Hutchinson Community College to ensure that students advance toward college graduation sooner and with industry recognized certifications. This partnership ensures that students do not repeat learning outcomes resulting in a significant savings in college tuition. The partnership between HCTEA and HCC also benefits students in the areas of instructor expertise and state of the art equipment. Students can be confident that they are being taught by highly qualified instructors in state of the art facilities with industry recognized equipment that will lead to employment.
  • High school students enrolled in Auto Collision Repair, Automotive Mechanics, Construction-Residential and Commercial, and Machine Technology programs receive college credit - at no cost - when they continue at HCC.
  • Many other HCTEA classes qualify for Tech Prep credit at HCC. These classes can be applied to many pathway options - at no cost to the student.
  • Through HCC's Step Ahead! program, high school students may take HCC classes at a reduced high school tuition rate. The amount of tuition paid is deducted from their tuition bill when enrolling at HCC as a freshman.
